Mahindra is Working on the 5-Door Model of the Thar

Mahindra is working on the 5-door model of Thar, which has recently got official approval in India.  The company will soon start testing the SUV with Bolero’s body. It is likely to be based on a longer wheelbase and offer more cabin space.The upcoming 5-door Thar will derive power from a new 180 mStallion Pro turbo petrol unit, which will be much more powerful than the petrol engine offered with the ongoing model that makes 150 bhp of power and 320 Nm of torque. The new SUV to get a more potent 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine that currently makes 130bhp and 320Nm.The new 5-door variant will be slightly expensive than the regular model of the Thar and will compete with the upcoming 5-door Suzuki Jimny.
